Emnotweni Casino Extension & Renovation Nelspruit

This ZAR200 million extension and renovation was fast tracked once it hit site. I was employed to be the on-site project architect. I was also the Principle Agent, which increased the level of responsibility, in having to coordinate and manage all the other consultants, and follow the legalities. The project had it’s official opening only 10 months after site handover, which was a tremendous success for all involved. The design is the first of its kind in South Africa, focusing on bringing natural light and planting into a casino environment. The design is contemporary, and has successfully moved away from ‘themed architecture’ which is common to the gaming world.
